Everystone

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

Trust & safety

What happens to my stone if Everystone disappears?

Nothing. Your title is established by the vault's warehouse receipt under Thai law (Civil and Commercial Code §775–796), not by our database. The stone stays in a licensed vault, in your name, and the vault remains liable for it. The passport is our layer on top — losing it would be inconvenient, not catastrophic.

Is this an investment product?

No. Everystone is a service that de-risks the deal — verification, escrow, storage, insurance and a fair exit — not a financial instrument. We promise no returns, quote no expected appreciation, and give no investment advice.

Who is actually responsible for my stone in custody?

The vault — a licensed bailee (Brink's or Malca-Amit), with liability insured via Lloyd's of London. Everystone is responsible for the passport: the record, the verification, the orchestration.

What do the check marks on a passport mean?

✔ the certificate matches the lab's own database (we have not seen the stone). ✔✔ the stone was physically inspected and matches the paper. ✔✔✔ the stone is under continuous vault control, and the passport reflects title.

For owners

Can I withdraw my stone from the vault?

Any time. The passport keeps its history but drops from ✔✔✔ to ✔✔ — the custody guarantee lapses until the next intake re-verification.

What does the 3.5% subscription cover?

Everything: allocated vault storage, insurance tied to the passport valuation, an annual valuation update, passport upkeep, sale-desk access and export packs. No separate storage or insurance bills.

How does an insurance claim work?

Coverage is bound to the documented valuation in your passport (block E). A claim runs through the vault operator's insurance program; the passport's valuation history is your evidence. Details are in the custody agreement.

What do my heirs get?

The heir pack: what the stone is, its verified history, its documented value, and step-by-step instructions for selling it through the sale-desk — one document, generated from the passport.

For buyers & sellers

How am I protected when buying?

Funds go into escrow, not to the seller. You get an inspection window with extra media or an independent paid check on request. Money releases only when you confirm — and for vaulted stones, the stone itself never moves.

What does selling cost?

A flat 5% seller commission on platform sales (7–8% under $10k), escrow included. Compare with ~10% seller commission plus a ~25% buyer's premium at a typical auction.

What does the buyer pay?

A buyer's premium on top of the price, by deal value: 3% above $5,000, 5% from $1,000–5,000, 7% under $1,000. It covers verification-at-sale and escrow. Even combined with the seller commission, the total is well under an auction's ~35%.

Why is buying through the platform the default?

Because both sides get more: the seller reaches vetted buyers at a better net price, the buyer gets verification and escrow. Deals you source yourself stay yours — the passport still does its job.

For dealers

Do you compete with me for my clients?

No. We hold no inventory and sell nothing of our own. At Tier 0/1 the client relationship is yours. At custody tier the service relationship is with us by design — and you earn a referral share plus trailing income for bringing the client.

What does the Registry plan include?

$300/month flat: unlimited stones, batch upload, printable QR tags, and a passport-backed trust signal on every piece in your case.
